Hale ("we", "us", "our") is operated by an individual based in the United Kingdom. We take your privacy seriously, particularly given the personal health data you share with us.

What we collect

Account information: name, email address, password (hashed — we never store it in plain text)
Health and fitness data you log: weight, meals, macros, workouts
Profile preferences: age, height, goals, injuries, dietary preferences
Conversation history with your AI coach
Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details)
Meal photos you upload for analysis

How we use your data

To provide personalised AI coaching responses tailored to your profile
To display your logged data back to you
To send transactional emails (welcome, trial reminders, payment receipts)
To process payments via Stripe

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share it with third parties except as required to operate the service (Stripe for payments, Anthropic for AI processing, Resend for email delivery).

AI processing

Your coaching conversations and profile data are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing. We send only what is necessary for the coaching context.

Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing coach@hale.fitness. We will delete your account and all associated data within 14 days.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email coach@hale.fitness.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.
